Harmonizing Scale and Comfort

The challenge of the Parisian 16th arrondissement is respecting the “bones” of the architecture while accommodating modern living. This project required a seating solution that could command the room without competing with the ornate marble fireplace and 19th-century moldings.

We selected the JS-CS025 Modular Sofa as the anchor. Its low profile ensures the sightlines to the full-length windows and mirrors remain unobstructed. The tufted, frameless design introduces a “sculptural softness” that breaks the rigid geometry of the herringbone floors, creating a dialogue between the historical rigidness and contemporary comfort.

This juxtaposition is the hallmark of modern Parisian interior design: the deliberate clash of the old world and the radical new.
